University of Auckland achieves record performance in 2025 QS World Rankings

The University of Auckland has achieved its highest ranking – 65th in the world - following new data published by the 2025 QS World University Rankings.

The university performed particularly well in Sustainability, Employment Outcomes, International Research Network, Citations per Faculty and Research.

University of Auckland Vice-Chancellor Professor Dawn Freshwater said: “Behind the result is a lot of data that shows how the University is achieving its research goals. We are forming networks with other researchers around the world, the community, local iwi, industry, and government to seek research-driven solutions to society's challenges.”

The 2025 QS World University Rankings are the most used global rankings and measure a university’s global reputation. Universities are scored in areas such as Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty Student Ratio, Citations per Faculty, International Faculty Ratio, International Students Ratio, International Research Network, Employment Outcomes and Sustainability.
